Description

Our client, a diverse engineering consulting firm with locations in Toronto, Milton, Bradford and Collingwood, is seeking an Electrical Engineer. The role is to oversee the production and provide design input into the engineering design and analysis for various projects. The successful incumbent will be responsible for client interactions and relationship.

Ideally the successful candidate is in the Milton office, but we are accepting applicants to work out of the other office locations as well.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with identification of electrical/utility requirements and preparation of detailed electrical designs, for a wide variety of projects, including residential subdivisions, intersections and roadways as well as single and multi-storey buildings and commercial sites.
  • Prepare electrical servicing designs, lighting and photometric analysis, traffic signalization submissions to support all electrical components for various projects through requisite municipal and provincial approvals.
  • Review electrical, photometric designs and deliverables for quality control.
  • Assess utility relocation design documents and work with utility companies to finalize servicing designs.
  • Perform field inspections for electrical/utility installations and attend site meetings regarding same.
  • Prepare project proposals, timelines, specifications and work schedules.
  • Attend events/meetings aimed at identifying business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Documented project experience in preparation/analysis of electrical designs/requirements for various residential/commercial projects.
  • Experience with traffic signalization and street lighting design is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical design principles, the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, municipal standards and other general building requirements within the Province of Ontario.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills and ability to prioritize/manage multiple project timelines and resources.
  • Dynamic, resourceful team motivator with proven track record.
