Project Manager/Design, Land Development

Work from a Home Office, Toronto






Our client specializes in providing land development consulting and civil engineering design services to developers across the country. Specialized areas of practice include site planning, civil engineering design, project management, and contract administration. They work for owners and developers of retail, commercial, residential, and industrial projects.


Due to growth and success, they have an immediate and strategic opening for a Project Manager, Land Development.




You will join a tight-knit group of engineers with decades of experience in land development engineering and consulting. ·        Prepare detail design drawings including servicing, grading, erosion and sediment control plans, and any other drawings required to secure municipal approvals or complete construction of the project

·        Prepare detailed engineering reports, including functional servicing reports and stormwater management reports for various stages of development including official plan amendments, zoning amendments, and site plan approval.

·        Liaise directly with the client and municipalities to secure approvals

·        Perform various design calculations and data manipulation in Excel or other engineering software as required

·        Assist with the preparation of tender and bid documents

·        Coordinate design details with other engineering disciplines

·        Mentor and train junior staff

·        All other duties assigned


To succeed in this role, you will have:

·        A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (or a related field)

·        5 to 10 years of related experience working as a Designer and/or Project Manager

·        Good knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D. Experience with other engineering design software including water or stormwater management models would be considered an asset.

·        Excellent technical writing skills.

·        An understanding of the municipal approvals process and confidence managing a project from due diligence through to construction including communication with all stakeholders (ie. approval agencies, clients, other consultants)

·        Strong self-management skills. Desire to work from home

·        The ability to multitask, problem solve, and work effectively under strict deadlines

·        A strong work ethic, motivation, judgment skills and interpersonal skills

·        A strong focus on attention to detail
