Our client is a fully integrated, leading Ontario land developer and home builder.  Due to growth and success are looking to add a Project Coordinator to their team. The position will report directly to the Senior Project Manager(s) and is part of the Land Development team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Planning program

 • Good communication, time management and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills.

 • Self-motivated with ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 • Experience with project management systems, preferably Newstar General Costing or similar product

  

This department is primarily responsible for initiating the work required to take land holdings from conception to home construction. Land development includes securing the required planning approvals and then securing the required engineering and construction approvals to service the approved site and prepare it for home construction. The key objectives are to obtain development approval for chosen land development projects and complete the design and construction processes to prepare the site for home construction. The Land development team will have multiple projects in progress at various stages of completion at any given time. The Land development project managers and coordinators work as a team on their assigned projects and ensure that the projects progress through the various stages in accordance with the approved project schedules and budgets.

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

 

• Support the internal team and the external consultants with the municipal and/or provincial planning approvals, including official plan amendments, draft plans of subdivision and condominium, site plans, zoning amendments, minor variances, and/or severances.

 • Support the internal team and the external consultants with the municipal and/or provincial engineering approvals including detailed grading and servicing designs and drawings. This also includes the review and coordination of supporting technical studies

. • Maintain a complete file of appropriate records of approvals, engineering plans, permits, etc. for each project.

 • Work with Project Managers, Finance department, and Business Administration staff on the proper set up of projects in the project management system to ensure proper tracking and reporting of approved projects.

• Enter the approved anchor budgets in the project management system and update the budgets for approved changes, as required.

• Create approved contracts in the project management system and monitor commitments against the approved budget.

 • Coordinate the consultant and vendor payment process to ensure invoices are coded, accounted for in contracts, and processed for payment in a timely manner according to contract terms and the internal workflow process.

 • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, cash flow projections, and any other financial requirements.

• Provide project reporting as required for internal review and partner meetings.

 • Assist the project managers in various other requirements of the assigned projects.
