Our client is a 100% Canadian employee-owned civil engineering company. They provide innovative and economic consulting services to private and public sector clients in Canada and internationally in the fields of civil (municipal) engineering and water resources management for a wide range of community growth related projects.
Reporting to the Manager of the Water Resources department, the Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing stormwater drainage systems, preliminary SWM pond design, preliminary culvert design and water balance. Other typical water resources assignments that often materialize during the approval process may include culvert designs, flood plain open space delineation, flood plain hydraulic modelling, natural channel design, erosion and siltation control, and natural heritage features water balance.
Responsibilities
Prepare Functional Servicing and Stormwater Management Reports;
Utilize computer modeling software to complete hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, erosion and sediment control studies, floodplain mapping analyses, sanitary sewer capacity analyses, etc;
Manage small team of junior engineers/EITs;
Support with client meetings and deadlines;
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
Minimum 5 years of experience in stormwater management analysis and report writing in the GTA
SWM facility sizing
Quality control sizing
Water balance analysis
Hydraulic grade line analysis of storm sewer
Expert in PCSWMM and VO
Should be able to lead a team of 2 and review and seal the report.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to multi-task and provide deliverables effectively in a fast paced environment.
Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
