We're looking for someone with 5+ years of experience and passion to want to exercise and grow their abilities as a Water Resource Engineer and Project Manager. You appreciate the opportunities that come with working for a smaller company and will want to make a noticeable difference in an essential role that offers unlimited growth.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will help lead the water resources component of a wide variety of projects. As a key member of the team and company, you will work together with staff and directly with clients on numerous active projects. You will work directly with corporate managers and owners and will have both technical and business development responsibilities. Projects may include:
Watershed and sub watershed management studies
Watershed hydrology and flood plain hydraulics and mapping
Municipal Infrastructure, urban drainage, and stormwater management
Stream corridor restoration, natural channel design, channel stabilization, and erosion control
Fishways, fish passage barrier mitigation, and low head dam decommissioning
Hydraulic analysis for the design of channels, bridges, culverts, weirs, sewers and fishways
Public consultation and Environmental Assessments
Environmental restoration and enhancement projects.
Qualifications:
This opportunity will require experience leading projects for a diverse portfolio including both public and private sector clients, oversight, and mentorship of junior and/or intermediate staff, depending on your capabilities. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of municipal engineering and water resource focused projects. The successful candidate will:
Licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligible for licensing immediately
5 + years of experience in Water Resources or related role
Manage the design and execution of civil and water resources engineering projects including stormwater management, flood mitigation, water and wastewater servicing, roadways, stream and natural channel rehabilitation
Prepare, review and support technical reports
Have expert knowledge of industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages
Have extensive knowledge of local municipal, provincial and conservation authority policies and regulations, specifications and approvals process
Preparation of proposals, budgets, and workplans
In depth knowledge of PCSWMM, VO, HECRAS, GIS.
